Surveyors Find More Defects

Added on May 19th 2014

Surveyors are finding more maintenance defects in homes

In the Hunters Residential Survey Department we see a cross section of the housing market because we act for all the major UK lenders.

In most areas prices are rising, (in some areas more than others) and this appears to be driven by shortage of supply and some of the Government incentives, including the Help to Buy Scheme.

However, rising prices also mean that buyers should proceed with caution. Given that the improvement in the housing market has followed a period of recession we are now finding that maintenance which normally would have been undertaken has, in some instances been overlooked. Consequently more and more people are commissioning an RICS  Homebuyer report or Building survey  and not simply relying on the basic mortgage valuation inspection.

If you are thinking of buying a property within the West Midlands and Warwickshire area call Hunters Survey Office on 01564 770035.  We have four experienced Chartered Surveyors based in the office and they would be pleased to talk through your requirements.
